First Look at ‘Ocean’s Eight’

Warner Bros. released the first still of their upcoming all-female spin-off Ocean’s Eight. The film, directed by Gary Ross (Pleasantville), features an all star cast lead by Academy Award winners Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway. The first image – from a New York City subway car – showcases the talented women in all their ferocity…well-costumed ferocity as well.

We’ve also learned a tiny bit more about the film itself, including the names of the surely to infamous eight. Bullock will portray Debbie Ocean (perhaps, as rumored, the sister of George Clooney’s character in the Steven Soderbergh-directed trilogy), Blanchett will play Lou, Rihanna is Nine Ball, Mindy Kaling is Amita, Awkwafina portrays Constance, Helena Bonham Carter is Rose, Anne Hathaway is Daphne Kluger and Sarah Paulson is Tammy. Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, it appears that the central heist in the picture will occur during lavishly costumed Met Gala and the film will feature cameos from the likes of fashion luminaries Anna Wintour (the inspiration for The Devil Wears Prada) and Zac Posen.
