First Look at Gareth Evans’ Latest Thriller ‘Apostle’

Director Gareth Evans, the mastermind behind the bonkers The Raid: Redemption and its conveniently titled sequel The Raid 2, is back at work on his latest project, one centering on a religious cult at the dawn of the 20th century and entitled Apostle. The first image of the Netflix-bound thriller has arrived, offering a slight tease of the currently in-production movie.

Apostle stars the currently ubiquitous Dan Stevens (currently seen on screens in Beauty and the BeastColossal and Norman), Michael Sheen (Passengers) and Lucy Boynton (Sing Street).

The synopsis reads, “The year is 1905. Thomas Richardson travels to a remote island to rescue his sister after she’s kidnapped by a mysterious religious cult demanding a ransom for her safe return. It soon becomes clear that the cult will regret the day it baited this man, as he digs deeper and deeper into the secrets and lies upon which the commune is built.” Apostle is expected to arrive sometime in 2018.

Now, what about the planned The Raid 3?
