Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet is back in another film by Amazon Studios.
This time, he is playing Nic Sheff, a young boy coming into adulthood and having to face new struggles with his father (played by Steve Carell). Helmed by Belgian director Felix van Groeningen, the film is based on a pair of best selling memoirs from father and son, David and Nic Sheff. The film chronicles the heartbreak and inspiring experience of survival, relapse and recovery in a family that has to deal with addiction over the course of many years.
The film also stars Oscar nominee Amy Ryan, Maura Tierney, and Kaitlyn Dever.
Although Chalamet also has Hot Summer Nights being released in the next month, Beautiful Boy looks like a much stronger contender to put him back in the awards race this year.
Beautiful Boy is set to come out in theaters October 12, 2018, but the first trailer is below for consideration.
