First Intense Trailer for ‘A Quiet Place 2’ Debuts

One of the most popular original horror films of the past few years, A Quiet Place, is getting a sequel this year and the first trailer has just hit the web. John Krasinski returns to direct along with star Emily Blunt.

The trailer starts off with the family from the first film driving through a seemingly normal town, until one of the alien creatures descends from the sky and crushes a car. These aliens act based on sound, so only silence can save them. She drives her and her children away from one alien and towards another as they take over the town.

The world seems to descend into apocalyptic level chaos as Blunt must protect the baby that was born in the first film along with her other children, now without the help of her husband. We see the family visit burning houses, abandoned factories, underground tunnels, and lifeless highways. In one abandoned building, they run into a rugged-looking Cillian Murphy who says to Blunt that the world is not the same and that the people who have survived up to that point might not be worth saving.

Djimon Hounsou makes an appearance as well, and its hard to tell if the new faces are friends or foes from the trailer alone. The trailer ends with Blunt wielding a massive gun, but we don’t see what or who she might be aiming at.

The new trailer can be seen below and A Quiet Place 2 hits theaters on March 20.
