First Image From ‘Jurassic World’ Sequel Unveiled

The first image from the upcoming sequel to Jurassic World was revealed via Twitter from Colin Trevorrow, showcasing a naturally jurassic artifact staring down a young girl. Trevorrow brought back Steven Spielberg’s beloved 1990s franchise with the massively successful 2015 Jurassic World relaunch, a film that took in upwards of $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office. Naturally, a second chapter was bound to happen.

And is currently filming, this time with J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) in the director’s chair. While the plot is still under lock and key, Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt (holding two franchise afoot with this and Guardians of the Galaxy) and Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help) return for more dino-mayhem. Joining them are newcomers to the franchise James Cromwell (The Artist), Ted Levine (Bleed for This), Toby Jones (Anthropoid), Rafe Spall (Life of Pi), screen legend Geraldine Chaplin (Talk to Her) and rising actors Justice Smith (The Get Down) and Daniella Pineda (The Detour). Jurassic mainstay B.D. Wong continues to hold the continuity glue reprising the same role portrayed in both the original 1993 Jurassic Park and Jurassic World.

Trevorrow and Derek Connolly penned the script. The next chapter in the still untitled Jurassic World sequel hits theaters on June 22, 2018.
