Final Trailer for ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’

Today, Warner Brothers released the final trailer for the upcoming film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters. This trailer has shown the most footage seen thus far, completely revealing some of the big name creatures that are to appear as well as more of a cohesive idea of the plot.

Set to an extremely slow and drawn out rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, we get a glimpse of the monsters from the Godzilla universe emerging from the depths of the earth to wreak havoc. Some of those shown are Mothra, Rodan, and Godzilla’s nemesis, King Ghidorah. We also become more aware of the battle between various governments and military branches against the rising monsters as well as their conflicts on deciding whether or not to unleash the previously contained Godzilla to aid in the fight. Examples of the extreme special effects and grand battles are teased alongside footage revealing more of the actors in the film such as Vera Farmiga and Millie Bobby Brown.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be the third film in Legendary’s Monsterverse (preceded by Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island) which will be followed next year by Godzilla vs. Kong. This Michael Dougherty-directed film will hit US theaters on May 31st of this year. The trailer can be checked out below.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
