Filming Wraps On Upcoming ‘Star Wars’ Film ‘Starfighter’

The Force is strong with Star Wars when it comes to films, with two upcoming theatrical projects making their debut soon, only a year apart. While Mandalorian & Grogu is a few months from release, the other project, Star Wars: Starfighter, has just wrapped filming.

The plot details for Starfighter are being kept under wraps at this moment, other than it being set in the years after The Rise of Skywalker. What’s also been made known to fans is that the story will not connect directly to any of the films that have come before.

Shawn Levy is stepping into the Star Wars galaxy as director of Starfighter. Director of Deadpool & Wolverine and Night At The Museum, Levy will also be producing the film, with a script written by Jonathan Tropper.

After kicking off in August, filming on Starfighter has now wrapped and is moving forward into post-production. It was confirmed by none other than Levy himself, in a post he made on his Instagram

Screenrant noted that many are taking note of the short production schedule that Starfighter had. The August to December timeframe is a rather truncated version of what’s usually the norm for not only Star Wars, but sci-fi blockbusters in general. However, with a subtitle such as Starfighter, fans are coming to expect plenty of outer space dogfights that the franchise has become known for.
