‘Fast 8’ Gets Official Title and Teaser Ahead of Sunday’s Trailer Premiere

Drum-roll please! The official title for the 8th installment in the Fast and Furious franchise will be The Fate of the Furious, doing away with the numbers completely – because who’s counting anymore? The official trailer for the film debuts tomorrow, Sunday, December 11. Ahead of the full length footage, Universal released a teaser for the film. Check it out below.

The Fate of the Furious will see Dom (Vin Diesel) re-enter the underworld of crime at the hands of mysterious boss, played by Charlize Theron. This drags the rest of the crew back into the fold as they try to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world. They will go from Cuba to New York City and to the arctic Berent Sea as the eighth film attempts to take the franchise to even bigger heights.

The whole gang is back (minus the late Paul Walker) to also include Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Dwayne Johnson, Elsa Pataky, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Kurt Russell, and will welcome newcomers Scott Eastwood and Helen Mirren (a surprising car fan).

Fate of the Furious hits theaters April 14, 2017 and is directed by Straight Outta Compton‘s F. Gary Gray. Check back for the full trailer tomorrow!
