Fans Welcome the Logo Reveal and Suit Debate for ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’

Fans are breathing a sigh of relief thanks to the many updates that have been coming from the Marvel Cinematic Universe camp. After the shock of so many heroes perishing in Avengers: Infinity War, it’s welcome news to see that Marvel Studios will release several sequels to blockbuster standalone superhero films featuring soon-to-be resurrected heroes. Such follow-ups include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Doctor Strange 2, and of course Spider-Man: Far From Home. It’s exciting to imagine future trailers for new arrivals while also relishing yet-to-be-revealed secrets contained in upcoming blockbuster Avengers 4.

Recent information about the Spider-Man sequel includes the unveiling of the official logo for the film. Sony Pictures, the official owner of movie-version Spider-Man since the purchase of the film rights from Marvel in 1999, unveiled a logo that looks very much like the Spider-Man: Homecoming logo, with a few variances. Screen Rant reveals that the new movie logo sports the same web-scrawling print with a familiar Spider-Man mask as the ‘O’ in the word home. This is similar to the original film logo, only with that one being the second ‘O’ in the word homecoming. Both logos share the same main title font; the new film will not have a downward bowing effect.

In addition to the new logo, fans have debated which suit Peter Parker will don in the sequel. While Spider-Man has worn three suits to date in the MCU (his homemade Spidey suit, the upgrade given to him by Tony Stark in Captain America: Civil War, and the recently tricked out Iron Spider suit worn on Avengers: Infinity War), it seems that he may sport something that is more personal to him for this round. As reported by Screen Rant, Tom Holland posted a video to Instagram (while on-set for Far From Home) suggesting that he is wearing the suit from Civil War. Even with this confirmation, fans shouldn’t expect that this will be the only suit Peter wears. Since Spider-Man sported the Iron Spider suit when he dusted at the end of Infinity War, his return may see him wearing the same suit he lost the fight in. With no firm details or a trailer as of yet, speculation will continue on what suits Spidey will don in the sequel.

It certainly seems as though Sony Pictures and Marvel know how to tease fans by giving them just enough information to keep them coming back to theaters. The still-untitled Avengers 4 film arrives in theaters in April/May 2019, so the fate of our friendly neighborhood spider’s outcome will be revealed shortly before Spider-Man: Far From Home arrives in theaters on July 5, 2019.
