A couple of days ago, we gave you a look at some character posters for The Expendables 3. Today, you can see those characters in action with the release of a brand new trailer for the film. “This August. Hang on. For one last ride.” The trailer beckons. Will this so called “last ride” bring everything full circle? Will it answer all of our lingering questions from the first two Expendables? Will every member of the frankly, enormous cast get adequate screen time?Probably not; but there will at least be plenty of running and shooting, as the new trailer demonstrates.
The third installment of the action-adventure franchise that follows the exploits of Barney Ross, Lee Christmas, and their associates. Directed by Patrick Hughes, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, Harrison Ford and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The apparent conclusion of the nostalgic action series opens in theaters August 15th. Of course if it manages to do the same kind of business its predecessors did, “last” could translate to last in a connected trilogy before a new series under the same banner starts up; or, last of the original Expendable films before a slew of spinoffs (there have been talks of Millennium Films doing The Expendabelles for a while). In any case, look forward to the exploits of legendary action stars (Stallone, Li, Statham) and some mixed martial artists (Couture, Rousey, Ortiz).
