Yes, you read the title correctly, there is a trailer out for the upcoming film/action stars of the eighties family reunion, The Expendables 3, and it in fact does give a good look at its cast. But that’s about it.
Yeah, its just a teaser trailer, but most teasers are a little more than an animated poster. At least it is an impressive cast. We’ve got Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, and Arnold Schwarzenegger returning from the last two films (hopefully Li’s role will be a bit bigger than what was little more than a cameo in Expendables 2). Rounding out the new cast is Harrison Ford – who we reported earlier as replacing Bruce Willis – Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Kelsey Grammer, Victor Oritz, Glen Powell, Mel Gibson as the lead antagonist (hot off his villainous in Machete Kills), Ronda Rousey as the token female, and Kellan Lutz as the token young person (now taking bets on how long his character will live).
Not a whole lot is known about the plot, but based on past experience with these films it will either involve discussions of Foucault’s classic work on structuralism, Folie et Déraison: Histoire de la folie à l’âge classique, or the heroes traveling to a foreign country and shooting many things. What do you think?
