Ewan McGregor has joined the cast for David Robert Mitchell’s new film for Warner Bros, where he will star opposite Anne Hathaway. Mitchell’s previous films include It Follows and Under the Silver Lake.
The project is currently untitled and plot details are under wraps but the movie has been described as a “thrill-ride” and will follow a mystery plot. Sources say the story may involve dinosaurs and will be set in the 80s. McGregor and Hathaway will be playing parents with their characters’ children yet to be cast.
Mitchell is set to direct and is the writer behind the script. He will be producing the film, along with J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella with Bad Robot Productions and Matt Jackson with Jackson Pictures.
Golden Globe and Emmy-winning McGregor is notable for playing Obi-Wan in the Star Wars franchise. Other notable movies starring the actor include Doctor Sleep (2019), Moulin Rouge (2001), and Trainspotting (1996). Hathaway is notable for starring in The Devil Wears Prada (2006) and Interstellar (2014) and for her Academy Award winning performance in Les Miserables (2012).
Executive producers include Jake Weiner and Chris Bender of Good Fear Content. Sheila Walcott and Zach Hamby are overseeing the production for Warner Bros Motion Picture Group.
