Every Villain In ‘Suicide Squad’ Has A Connection With Batman

From the three full-length trailers that have been released for the rambunctious Suicide Squad, it’s clear that everyone in the villainous team is already quite notorious in Gotham. While not all of the reasons for their imprisonment in Arkham Prison have been revealed yet, it’s already been stated that they are “the worst of the worst,” and, according to the tagline of the poster, the: “Worst. Heroes. Ever.” So, it will be interesting to see how their run-ins with the law, not to mention Batman (Ben Affleck), play out.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, playing the character known as Killer Croc, recently spoke to Fandango about the villains’ history with the Caped Crusader. The actor’s comments also showcase how incredibly busy Batman has been over the past few years, especially in having to deal the crazy members of the Suicide Squad.

All of these so-called villains are villains that Batman has had some history with and caught and brought into Arkham Prison. So whether it comes before or after I’m not sure, but I do know we’ve all been captured by him and imprisoned in Arkham, so we’ve all got a gripe to bear against the ol’ Bat.

The large amounts of prosthetics needed for Killer Croc required Akinnuoye-Agbaje to undergo over five hours of makeup work which, as he put it, made him “act [his] butt off.” And whether or not the (rebutted) reports of the film going through substantial reshoots to add more jokes and liven up the tone prove to be true, at least audiences could be in for some stellar performances. Just how much of a role Batman will have in the story is not fully known yet, but it seems like his addition will allow for a richer history of the central characters.
