Evangeline Lilly Confirms Wasp Appearance in ‘Avengers 4’

While chatting at the New York Comic-Con, Blastr got the dirt that Evangeline Lilly, or our soon-to-be Wasp, will soon be making her Marvel debut in an Avengers title. The Lost star appeared in last summer’s Ant-Man, which teased that her character of Hope van Dyne is soon headed into superhero territory in her own right, as the Wasp. Marvel doubled-down on that promise, as the follow-up will be entitled Ant-Man and the Wasp, with Lilly co-leading alongside Paul Rudd. The larger news revealed is that Lilly confirmed she will take part in Avengers 4, which is currently untitled but which is heading into production shortly – the film is being shot concurrently with Avengers: Infinity War.

Here’s Lilly commenting on the status of Ant-Man and the Wasp:

Right now an initial script has been created but it has not been approved by the higher powers that be, by the Feiges, So I haven’t seen it yet but I have talked to Peyton (Reed) about where they’re headed and what they want to focus on. I’m excited because it’s essentially going to be the origin of the Wasp. We’re going to see the Wasp for the first time take on the mantle, and put on the suit, and fly about, and do her thing.

And dropping the news about her Avengers 4 appearance:

Following that one, there’s an Avengers series coming out that’s a two-parter and the Wasp won’t be in the first part, she’ll be in the second part because they really want to preserve that reveal for Ant-Man and the Wasp so that they can give it its due time.

To what capacity Lilly will appear in Avengers 4 is not known, as is much of what following their upcoming Infinity War. Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to hit theaters on July 6, 2018 and Avengers 4 is set for May 3, 2019.
