Yankovic is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist of all time, known for pastiching and parodying the works of his musical contemporaries. The upcoming biopic promises to hold nothing back and will explore every fact from his childhood through his rise to fame, following early hits like “Eat I” and “Like a Surgeon.” The audience will also get a peek into his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle.
Madonna crossed paths with the star in 1985 when he parodied her song “Like a Virgin” with the aforementioned “Like a Surgeon.” Madonna herself has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and is a seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
Actress Evan Rachel Wood is a three-time Emmy nominee and is known for her roles in HBO’s Westworld and will soon be seen in Phoenix Rising- a two-part documentary from director Amy Berg that documents her alleged experience of abuse at the hands of musician Marilyn Manson.
The biopic was written by Yankovic and Eric Appel, the latter of whom is also directing the film. Production kicked off in Los Angeles last month.
