Oscar winning actress Emma Stone has found a next project. The Hollywood Reporter announced that Stone is in talks to appear in an untitled project for Universal. The exciting part? Stone’s husband, Dave McCary is set to direct!
Stone and McCary’s new film is an adaptation of a spec script written by Patrick Kang and Michael Levin. Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, Dan Levine, Michael Cohen, Ali Herting are producing the film alongside Stone and McCary.
Stone recently won the Oscar for Best Actress at this year’s 96th Academy Awards for her role as Bella Baxter in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, her second win after 2017’s La La Land. She is also known for The Amazing Spider-Man, The Curse, The Favourite, The Help, and Easy A. In addition, she is reuniting with Lanthimos for Kinds of Kindness, which releases this June.
McCary is a writer, director and producer known for Brigsby Bear, A Real Pain, Problemista, and The Curse (which he executive produced with Stone). McCary met Stone while he was writing and directing for Saturday Night Live in 2016. He worked at SNL for five seasons.
