Ella Bright has taken her studies elsewhere, as it has been confirmed that the Off Campus star will lead opposite Mason Thames in Sony Pictures’ new coming-of-age comedy Narcs. John Phillips, who is known for his writing credits of Good Boys, Dirty Grandpa, and No Hard Feelings, will make his directorial debut. The original script is by TBS comedy Wrecked co-creators Jordan and Justin Shipley, with rewrites being made by Phillips and his often collaborator Gene Stupnitsky, who is also producing through his Big Name Entertainment banner. Robert Lamonaca is named as executive producer under Big Name along with Joseph Micucci and Phillips.
While Bright’s fame just reached new heights with the breakout success of Off Campus, the television adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s book series of the same title was streamed by thirty-six million viewers in the first twelve days that it was on Prime Video, she began her acting career when she was a child. She starred in the TV historical drama series Malory Towers (2020-2025), an adaptation of Enid Blyton’s book series of the same name and portrayed young Kate Middleton in the sixth season of The Crown (2016-2023). Bright just finished wrapping the second season of Off Campus, which was renewed ahead of its series premiere in May.
No other news on Narcs has been released as of yet.
