Last Night In Soho, the upcoming psychological horror movie from Baby Driver director Edgar Wright, is now heading to theaters on April 23, 2021. The initial release date had been September 25, 2020 via Focus Features before the date was pushed back due to the pandemic.
Last Night In Soho takes place in 1960s London and follows a young girl, who is passionate about fashion design. In the thriller, she mysteriously enters the era of the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But the city is not what it seems, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences.
The horror film stars Anya Taylor-Joy from Emma and The Witch, Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie from Jo Jo Rabbit, Matt Smith from The Crown, along with Michael Ajao, Synnøve Karlsen, Diana Rigg, Terence Stamp, and Rita Tushingham.
Wright and Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who penned 1917 and is working on an upcoming Star Wars script, co-wrote the screenplay, with Nira Park producing with Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
Wright’s other directorial project, the action packed Baby Driver, became his highest grossing title back in 2017 garnering $227M at the global box office.
Today, Wright took to Twitter to announce the news about the postponement, attaching a picture of what is a new look at the film. He reassured the fans in the caption: “Haunted by someone else’s past, but we’ll see you in the future… It’s true, #LastNightInSoho is not quite finished yet due to Covid 19. But, I’m excited for you all to experience it, at a big screen near you, on April 23, 2021.”
