Dominic Sessa Set To Play Anthony Bourdain In A24 Biopic ‘Tony’

Dominic Sessa is set to return to the big screen in an upcoming project with A24. The Holdovers star will portray Anthony Bourdain in the upcoming A24 and Star Thrower Entertainment’s Tony.

Bourdain was a chef in various Manhattan restaurants throughout the 80s and 90s. He gained popularity through his “essay collection about the ugly secrets of restaurants that put him on the map. Following their publication in The New Yorker, Bourdain became an instant star on the media food scene due to his point-blank, tell-it-like-it-is tone that audiences were not accustomed to,” according to Deadline. It has not yet been announced what part of Bourdain’s life the project will focus on.

Tony will be the second project Sessa will be featured in after his role as Angus Tully in Alexander Payne’s 2023 film, The Holdovers. Sessa has not yet commented on the project but reposted a post from The Hollywood Reporter on his Instagram story to confirm his involvement with the project. Matt Johnson will direct Tony with Lou Howe and Todd Bartels writing the script. Star Thrower Entertainment’s Trevor and Tim White will produce alongside Johnson.

This is the only information on the project that has been released.
