Star of NBC’s The Paper, Domhall Gleeson, is starring in a new comedy that is being released to theaters September 25th of this year. The movie is called The Incomer, and will also star Gayle Rankin (Glow), Grant O’Rourke (Outlander), Emun Elliot (Prometheus) and Michelle Gomez (Dr. Who) among others. The movie was first shown at the Sundance Movie Festival earlier this year in January where it won the Next Innovator Award.
The trailer for the movie was released today and gives a look at what the plot is to be. Gleeson’s character is sent to an island where he must evict a brother and sister who have been cut off from the world. In an interview with IndieWire, director and writer of the film, Louis Paxton, describes the idea of the movie being on an island, “My family, you know, are from all over Scotland but the North of Scotland is where my mom’s from and we used to go there when we were young. I mean it’s just a really kind of magical place.” He follows with, “I hadn’t seen many films that were shot up there and it just felt like, feels like the edge of the world. It feels slightly magical and it’s all just kind of steeped in this mythology as well. So there’s a little bit of all that in the film.”
