In 2018, a documentary was released that followed the lives of John and Molly Chester, a married couple who decided to revamp a piece of land and turn it into a self-sustaining farm. The Biggest Little Farm chronicled the Chesters’ journey leaving behind their urban life in Los Angeles and grow delicious food in harmony with Ventura County’s natural habitats.
And now, in 2022, the Chesters have garnered the attention of the folks at National Geographic and subsequently Disney. On Earth Day, Disney Plus will be releasing The Biggest Little Farm: The Return. The new special follows the farmers’ 10-year journey as they transform the land into a magical working farm. The special arrives four years after their primary film was released, so viewers can catch up with the cause that initially caught their attention.
In the official trailer released by Disney, footage teases an adorable dog and farm animals, both sunshine and cruel storms, and a good dollop of team work holding it all together. All-in-all, the trailer promises what is sure to be a story with ups and downs and overall a feel good picture. The documentary will be available for streaming on April 22, 2022 on Disney Plus.
