Disney’s future no longer gleams as brightly, after the latest developments with casting- Snow White starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, originally slated for March 2024 release, has now been pushed back to March 2025.
Adding on to this postponement, Magazine Dreams, a film portraying the struggles of an amateur bodybuilder in search of human connection, was dropped out of Disney’s calendar. Jonathan Majors, who was set to play the amateur bodybuilder, was arrested in March following a domestic dispute.
Majors was arrested on charges of alleged strangulation, assault, and harassment. In June, he filed a domestic violence complaint against his then girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Since Majors arrest, he has been removed from numerous projects and his publicist and manager dropped him as a client after his arrest.
The actor appeared in a couple of important feature films: Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While Jonathan Majors’ career showed great promise in the beginning, it appears to have taken an unfortunate turn at this point.
In contrast, the same cannot be said for Rachel Zegler. Despite her past interviews that garnered attention for her criticisms of the film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the actress is still set to play Snow White. TMZ reports, “Zegler herself has caught lot of heat for hating on ‘Snow White’ and calling it outdated.”
