Disney-Pixar’s Latest ‘Coco’ Trailer Connects Us All

The latest trailer for Pixar’s upcoming animated feature Coco has been unveiled. Pixar mainstays Lee Unkrich, an Oscar-winner for Toy Story 3, and Adrian Molina, co-writer of The Good Dinosaur, both direct and pen their latest animated spectacle, this one following the incredible adventures of a 12-year old boy named Miguel.

The synopsis reads: “Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself magically transported to the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.”

Coco holds a significant distinction in the Pixar canon with its all-Latino voice cast. Aside from Gonzalez, Bratt and Bernal, the ensemble is rounded out by Ana Ofelia Murguía (Mozart in the Jungle), Renée Victor (Weeds), Jaime Camil (Jane the Virgin), Sofía Espinosa, Luis Valdez, Lombardo Boyar (Happy Feet), Alanna Ubach (Meet the Fockers), Selene Luna (My Bloody Valentine), Alfonso Arau (Three Amigos), Herbert Siguenza (Larry Crowne), Octavia Solis, Gabriel Iglesias (Planes), Blanca Araceli (The Bridge), Cheech Marin (Cars 3) and Edward James Olmos (Blade Runner).

Coco hits theaters on November 22nd.
