D23, the official Disney fan club, began its South American event D23 Brazil this week in Sao Paulo. It is a massive event for Disney fans featuring special promotions, sneak peeks, and appearances made by Disney cast members, per The Walt Disney Company. D23 Brazil – A Disney Experience by Bradesco/Visa Arena is supported by Disney Live Action, Pixar, and Walt Disney Animation Studios, and runs until November 10th.
The event was kicked off by Renato D’Angelo, the General Manager of The Walt Disney Company Brazil, who cut the ribbon to the event next to Zé Carioca, an iconic Brazilian Disney character. The convention is hosted by Otaviano Costa and Carol Moreira
Ice Age 6 was announced to be in production, with Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, and John Leguizamo reprising their series roles. Denis Leary and Simon Pegg are also set to star. A short video was played to celebrate the announcement.
Barry Jenkins, director of the Best Picture-winning Moonlight, appeared to tease his upcoming Disney film Mufasa: The Lion King, which is set to release nationally on December 20th. Fans at D23 Brazil were the first to see an exclusive trailer for the film.
Jared Leto made a video appearance to promote TRON: Ares, the Tron series follow-up set to premiere on October 10th, 2025. Fans were given a first look at the film, which follows the artificial intelligence program Ares as it makes a mission into the real world.
