David F. Sandberg, director of the upcoming Shazam 2 film posted the very first image of the Shazam heroes in their superhero uniforms. Sandberg posted the image on Twitter, saying he decided to release the photo to get ahead of any leaks occurring for the film’s set images. This is always a risk for superhero films, especially ones that film outdoors in the line of sight of any fans or passing onlookers.
Sandberg tweeted, “Don’t know how long we can keep the new suits from leaking so here’s a pic I took the other day.”

In the released photo includes Shazam (Zachary Levi) and the adult superhero forms of Freddy Freeman (Adam Brody), Darla Dudley (Meagan Good), Eugene Choi (Ross Butler), Mary Bromfield (Grace Fulton), and Pedro Peña (D.J. Cotrona).
And according to Hollywood Reporter, fans note that Shazam’s costume looks more evolved than the somewhat puffy-looking 2019 version. The signature chest lightning bolt glow effect is presumed to be added during shooting or postproduction.
In addition to the returning cast, the sequel adds Lucy Liu as Kalypso and Helen Mirren as Hespera, both daughters of Atlas.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is due for release on June 2, 2023. Watch out for more exclusive images and trailers from the movie!
