From the filmmaker David Yarovesky, Locked is an edge of your seat thriller that was released on March 21st and stars Bill Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins. Recently, a ten minute sneak peak preview was released several months ago and featured Skarsgård’s character speeding through streets being forcefully and horrifically guided and taunted by Hopkins voice within the car.
Sam Raimi produced the film as Michael Arlen Ross wrote it. Locked only took nineteen days of production time to wrap the filming. At a Q&A about the film, Yarovesky commented,
“We shot it in 19 days so it felt like there was a bomb strapped to my chest. It was a joy to work with Skarsgård. It was a joy to make this movie. It was a joy to see it come together, but it was terrifying. This is an independent film. Bill, he’s here, and Anthony Hopkins is in the movie, and Sam Raimi, and you look at it, and you go, ‘Oh that looks like a big movie. It’s on the big screen!’ But it was a tiny, little movie. I’m not kidding you when I say that we all put blood, sweat, and tears in it. The joy was believing in what we were making and going, ‘Alright, it’s going to hurt, but we’re going to make it. I believe in it.’ If that sounds exciting to you, you’ll probably be a filmmaker.”
