Diane Kruger, Jessica Lange and More Join Liam Neeson in Noir Thriller ‘Marlowe’

Diane Kruger (National Treasure) and Oscar-winner Jessica Lange (American Horror Story) have been cast in noir thriller Marlowe, joining Liam Neeson.

Neil Jordan will be directing the film. Jordan directed titles such as the 1992 crime drama The Crying Game and the 1994 horror Interview with the Vampire starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. William Monahan (The Departed) wrote the script based on John Banville’s novel The Black-Eyed Blonde.

When private detective Philip Marlowe (Neeson) is hired to find the ex-lover of a glamorous heiress, it appears to be an easy case. However, Marlowe soon finds himself in the underbelly of Hollywood’s film industry, unsuspecting drawn into the crosshairs of a legendary Hollywood actress and her provocative, ambitious daughter.

Starring alongside Kruger, Lange, and Neeson in the noir thriller are Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (2016’s Suicide Squad), Alan Cumming (The Good Wife), Danny Huston (Yellowstone), Ian Hart (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone), and Colm Meaney (Tolkien).

Clare Cavendish, the femme fatale originator of the scheme, will be portrayed by Kruger, who inherited her alluring appeal from her renowned mother, Dorothy Cavendish, who will be played by Lange.

Hart will portray detective Joe Green, while Colm Meaney will play Bernie Ohls, the DA’s investigator and another recurrent character from Chandler’s original works. Floyd Hanson, the colorful country club manager, will be played by Danny Huston. Cedric, the right-hand man to Cumming’s neatly dressed mobster Lou Hendricks, will be played by Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

Marlowe is currently being filmed in Ireland and Spain.
