Extraordinarily talented actor Dev Patel (The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) will play huge part in the upcoming movie, The Wedding Guest. While Patel has only been signed on to eighteen projects to date, he’s made many iconic movies, such as past Oscar favorite Slumdog Millionaire (he also played the villain in the poorly-received and much-maligned film adaptation of the Nickelodeon series Avatar the Last Airbender, a creation which many fans prefer to pretend did not exist). Nonetheless, his skills are evident throughout his body of work. In fact, he is fresh off the well-received film Lion, which nearly won him an Oscar. In the film, he starred along with with Nicole Kidman (Practical Magic) and Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). Currently, the synopsis of the movie remains top secret, and we will be keeping a close eye on any potential news revealing the events in The Wedding Guest, which will presumably be filmed in India, as the film’s plot will occur there.
Though there is currently no date set for the release of The Wedding Guest, Patel will also appear in Hotel Mumbai directed by Anthony Maras (The Palace), which will hopefully tide his fans over until the next movie hits theaters.
