Deon Taylor is On Board to Direct For Police Drama ‘.38’

Deon Taylor has been a busy man recently, with one of his films releasing within three months, one that just completed shooting, another that is currently in post-production, and one that he produced that should be releasing soon. Taylor has now just signed on to direct yet another film, working with Lionsgate to release .38, according to Variety.

.38 will focus on a police force that is working in an extremely dangerous area of St. Louis, dubbed the “Bloody Third” District, and will shine light on one night that will be put together by stories from the officers and from the people of the community to show what actually happened throughout the night and what can happen when comparing stories from both sides.

Currently, no one is on the cast list as of yet, but the team is working hard on casting and have also hired acclaimed cinematographer Dante Spinotti, who has received two different Academy Award nominations for his work on L.A. Confidential and The Insider. The film is being financed by one of Taylor’s main partners Robert F. Smith, and the film is being released worldwide and nationwide by Lionsgate. We are very interested to see who exactly is chosen to be on the cast, and we hope that Taylor will be able to create a convicting and thought-provoking film.
