John Lee Hancock’s American Neo-Noir crime thriller film The Little Things has lead the box office for a second week in a row, grossing $2.1 million domestically. According to CBR, internationally, the film has made $1.4 million in ticket sales across 20 different countries, and made a total of $7.8 million from box offices in the United States and Canada. The Little Things follows the story of Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe Deacon (Denzel Washington), who joins forces with Sgt. Jim Baxer (Rami Malek) to search for a serial killer on the loose in Los Angeles. As the plot thickens, Baxter discovers troubling secrets about Deke’s past, which could threaten more than his case.
The film was released in both theaters and on HBO Max on Jan. 29th, and The Little Things has been raking in millions since. Covid-19 has been a huge factor in many film’s critical failure this year, yet The Little Things was still extremely successful, and ended up on top of the weekend box office numbers. Following The Little Things, Universal and DreamWork Animation’s film The Croods: A New Age, landed the second-highest box office numbers, making $1.7 million over the weekend.
The Little Things also stars Jared Leto, Michael Hyatt, Chris Bauer and Natalie Morales, and is available in theaters and HBO max.
