Deadpool 3, a highly anticipated third film in the trilogy, is looking to be delayed past its initial May 2024 release date. According to Comicbook, there was a call between Disney and investors this past week, which laid out several plans for theatrical releases, including The Marvels, Wish, Elio, Snow White, and Inside Out 2, which has an expected release date of June 14th, 2024.
It’s not unexpected that the film is seeing delays. Amidst the current WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, many releases across several different film companies are being delayed and pushed back. Movieweb noted that just a few weeks after filming started, the strike started, causing production to shut down for now.
Deadpool 3 isn’t the only Marvel-production being delayed. Echo, the spinoff of Hawkeye, was initially going to release on Disney+ in November of this year, but the series has been exempt from the list of releases. Movieweb shared this image which includes all of the current plans for streaming services in the future.
Likewise, this list shared by Comicbook, which shows the upcoming theatrical releases from Disney-owned companies, was what initially notified people that Deadpool 3 would be a likely delayed release.
Despite what is known so far, it is still not confirmed that the film will be delayed. But, with the strikes within the industry that have no sign of slowing down soon, it isn’t a stretch to assume that the film will truly be delayed.
