Good morning, it is February 1, 2021. Yesterday, filmmaker, actor, and artist David Lynch teased an announcement coming in at the first of the month, which is today. For those uninitiated, Lynch has two daily series on his small, but wonderful, YouTube channel. He has his daily weather report as well as his number of the day videos.
Fans and sites alike theorized just what Lynch was going to announce today. Was it more on his Netflix series Unrecorded Night? Was he going to announce the next season of Twin Peaks? Or the fact Inland Empire actually connects to Blue Velvet due to one look by Jack Nance’s Henry Spencer in Eraserhead?!
Thankfully, it was none of those. The cryptic auteur has not changed in his older age. Lynch’s announcement was that he planned to end his two daily series, but due to the support and passion of his subscribers and fans, which this writer is a part of, Lynch has decided to keep his reports and numbers going everyday.
In a heartwarming speech he says he wishes “blue skies and golden sunshine internally all along the way” for everyone. If anything shows Lynch’s love and passion for the craft it is all of his YouTube channel. It’s strange, absurd, but overall so utterly genuine. Lynch brings so much joy and love to this maze of a world.
