DC Studios’ next project takes to the skies with new cast members, as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow starts production this week, per The Hollywood Reporter.
David Krumholtz, who played Isidor Isaac Rabi in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and is best known for his role as Bernard the Elf in The Santa Clause movies, and British actress Emily Beecham from The Coen Brothers’s Hail, Caesar!, have been announced to play the titular heroine’s parents. Supergirl herself will be played by Milly Alcock from House of the Dragon.
The story is said to be loosely based on a 2021 eight-part comic book miniseries by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. It is about an alien girl named Ruthye, who requests Supergirl’s help in her quest for revenge against Krem of the Yellow Hills, who killed her father. The characters of Ruthye and Krem are listed on the cast list and will be portrayed by Eve Ridley and Matthias Schoenaerts, respectively. Jason Mamoa is also set to cameo as galactic bounty hunter, Lobo.
Written by Ana Nogueira and directed by Craig Gillespie, the project is currently filming at Warner Bros. and DC’s U.K. production studio in Leavesden.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026.
