Via an interview with Inverse, acclaimed composer Danny Elfman has revealed that he will be scoring Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This will be a reunion between parties in many ways. Director Sam Raimi will reunite with Elfman, who composed the score for the original Spider-Man trilogy. Elfman also composed the score for Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, Elfman is probably most well-known for his scoring of popular Tim Burton films.
The 67-year old composer has created scores for worlds such as Batman, Big Fish, and Beetlejuice. He also, of course, scored The Nightmare Before Christmas. Elfman is a master of his craft and has created scores that have added so much depth to the films at hand. This is not only a return to the MCU, but also a true meshing of the Multiverse as Elfman has composed for the MCU, Sony’s Marvel Spider-Verse, and many other properties.
This is certainly exciting news. The composer can only add to the intriguing film that is set to debut next year. Elfman has also confirmed that he has began doing small bits in preparation and for the set. A full interview with the composer will be released on the website Inverse.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be the 28th film in the MCU, and based on the title and WandaVision, will unite different worlds across the Multiverse. The flick is scheduled for a March 25, 2022 release date, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Xochitl Gomez, Rachel McAdams, and Benedict Wong.
