Dakota Johnson Details The Unusual Reason Why An Audition Didn’t Go In Her Favor

Auditions are, by nature, a very important process for actors and actresses, being a very important part of the process that can make or break an opportunity for them. One audition in particular for actress Dakota Johnson made for a recountable experience, but not for the right reasons.

Johnson appeared on Hits Radio recently discussing one of her latest films, Splitsville. Starring alongside Kyle Marvin, Michael Angelo Covino, and Adria Arjona, the film follows two separate couples going through very different phases in their relationship, as chaos ensues when their paths begin to cross.

Johnson recounted the story and elaborated on the bizarre cue that drove the audition to failure. Oddly enough, it wasn’t the content of the audition itself that set the endeavor up for failure, but rather a simple gesture she made in hopes of coming off as respectful. She explained

The feedback I got was that because I had gone and introduced myself and shook everyone’s hand, I was pompous. That I was schmoozing, and I was full of myself,

Johnson continued, saying that she “didn’t get the job because they said that I was being cocky, but I just had manners… It was pretty crazy.”
