Daisy Ridley To Star In The Next ‘Star Wars’ Film Directed By Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy

For fans of the recent Star Wars trilogy, the news of Daisy Ridley reprising her role as Rey in a new film is sure to be rousing.

Ridley made a guest appearance at the Star Wars Celebration in London, where the news was announced. The film is said to be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and it will be one of three news films for the franchise with the other two being directed by Dave Filoni and James Mangold. Obaid-Chinoy’s film will take place after the events of Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. It is expected that the plot will focus on Rey as she tries to create a new Jedi Order, according to Deadline.

The plot of the following two films by Filoni and Mangold are said to revolve around the “dawn of the Jedi” and the New Republic, respectively. It is not currently known if the other two films will also focus on Rey.

At the event, Jude Law and Rosario Dawson also made appearances to promote their new Disney+ television shows: Skeleton Crew and Ahsoka. Ahsoka, starring Dawson, is expected to be released on the platform in August 2023.
