Warner Bros has officially locked up a date for a Rami Malek and Denzel Washington-helmed cop thriller The Little Things, which is currently slated for a January 29, 2021 release date according to Deadline. Aside from The Little Things, Warner Bros. has also cemented a date for an untitled film that’s set to face off against Paramount’s animated monster-wrestling film Rumble.
The film will be directed and written by John Lee Hancock and focuses on a man named Deke (played by Denzel Washington), who washed-up Kern County California deputy sheriff who pairs up with Baxter (played by Rami Malek), a drug LASD detective in efforts to apprehend a serial killer. Deke has an appetite for what he refers to in the field as the “little things,” and this instinct proves to be highly precise on the case they’re forced to solve. However, Deke’s ambitions tend to interfere with Baxter’s internal conflicts and, on top of the dynamic between the two, Deke must fend off a dark past that haunts him thoroughly.
Next to Washington and Malek, Jared Leto and Natalie Morales will feature in supporting roles. Hancock and Mark Johnson will be handling the film’s production with Mike Drake serving as an executive producer.
