Constance Wu Could Star in Savion Einstein Comedy

Constance Wu might star in a Savion Einstein comedy, according to Deadline. Constance Wu recently starred in the mega hit Crazy Rich Asians and also plays the fiery but loving mother in the family comedy Fresh Off The Boat. Savion Einstein, who only has one other writing credit for The Longest Birthday, will not only write the script for the film, but will also be co-directing with Kimmy Gatewood. Kimmy Gatewood has been the actress in many T.V. and sketch shows including Glow, Conan, Comedy Bang! Bang! and Sketchy.

The film will mark the feature directorial debut for not only Savion Einstein but also Kimmy Gatewood. Although there is no date when production will start, the film could hold potential. Wu just won a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Crazy Rich Asians, and Gatewood’s experience in comedy could help play to Wu’s comedic strengths that she is able to flex in Fresh Off The Boat. Although Einstein is inexperienced in the art of film making, Gatewood could help guide her through the process while also being able to create an entertaining film at the same time.

Hopefully Gatewood and Einstein will find success in their first feature film with Constance Wu will bring audiences another fantastic performance.

Keidan Chavez: I am an undergraduate attending Whittier College majoring in screen writing and journalism. I love to watch movies, play Red Dead Redemption 2 and read whenever I get the chance. I will watch anything related to Wright, Tarantino, The Coen Brothers or Nolan. I will also play anything made by Naughty Dog or Rockstar Games. I love being able to experience great stories, especially when I am able to share that experience with others. I also love learning about movies and sharing that knowledge to those that are just as passionate.
