The new red band trailer for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has everything: guns, swords, poker chips, murder, smirking villains, girls, girls girls, women, women, women, white blood, inner monologues, more Hollywood stars than you can shake a stick at, and even a cameo by the creator of the original Sin City comic book, Frank Miller. The trailer also goes out of its way to remind you that it’s based on a comic book, with shots of the movie overlaid with pictures from the work it’s adapted from.
Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reunite to bring Miller’s visually stunning “Sin City” graphic novels back to the screen in “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.” Weaving together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more notorious inhabitants.
Along with “two of Miller’s classic stories,” the author also wrote two original story lines for the film.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is set for release on August 22, 2014. The film stars Josh Brolin, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Eva Green, and many others. It’s directed by Robert Rodriguez and distributed by Dimension Films. The red band trailer premiered at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego.
