Colleen Hoover’s ‘Verity’ Adaptation Gets Dakota Johnson And Josh Hartnett

Colleen Hoover known for her love and romance novel and her recent movie It Ends With Us which is based on her book is now in the process of making her best-selling psychological thriller Verity. Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett have been recently announced to be the leads in this adaptation and will be joining Anne Hawthay who will be playing which is to be directed by Michael Showalter. 

Hollywood Reporter reported that Dakota Johnson would be portraying Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer hired to complete the works of a reclusive author, while Josh Hartnett will play the role of Jermey Crawfors who is the enigmatic husband of the incapacitated author who is his wife Verity Crawfors. This chilling narrative gives the audience a blend of mystery and psychological tension, thus keeping fans and newcomers on the edge of their seats. 

This film is to be produced by Amazon MGM Studios, with Michael Showalter’s ass director, Nick Antosca as the scriptwriter. Hoover’s books have consistently dominated bestseller lists and seems excited to bring this new book of hers to life. This book by Hoover was self-published in 2018 and gained a massive following which solidified her reputation as a writer of gripping, emotionally charged storytelling. 

This adaptation comes after the surge of popularity of her books along with the movie It Ends With Us which happened on platforms like TikTok where the hashtag ColloeenHoover gained lots of traction. Dakota Johnson is best known for her roles in the erotic romance Fifty Shades of Grey and the movie Madame Web, which is action sci-fi, which gives a complex experience to the role of Lowen. Josh Hartnett best known for his roles in the war romance Pearl Harbor and the war action Black Hawk Down, will be able to captivate the audience with his portrayal of Jermey. 

This cast for Verity is lining up to be cinematic events that many fans of the book and Collee Hoover are waiting for. Fans of the book and psychological thrillers are awaiting what seems to be a haunting but unforgettable film experience according to Hollywood Reporter.
