Clive Owen Adds to Supreme Cast of ‘Maggie’s Plan’

The Hollywood Reporter announced that Clive Owen has joined Julianna Moore and Greta Gerwig in Rebecca Miller’s romantic comedy, Maggie’s Plan. Filming will take place in New York City later this year and the film will be sold at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

Influenced by a story from Karen Rinaldi, Maggie’s Plan details Maggie’s (Gerwig) struggle to make it in New York. The film follows her emotional trials, while focusing on a unique love triangle.

With a cast of Owen and Gerwig (Frances Ha), (we have previously celebrated this casting), and four-time Oscar nominated Moore (Children of Men), the people behind this romantic comedy seem to know what they’re doing. The writer  and director, Miller is well known for The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009), which featured Robin Wright, as a woman who struggles to retain her sanity after her husband forces a move to a retirement community. She also directed The Ballad of Jack & Rose (2005), starring Daniel-Day Lewis and Camilla Belle, about a father and daughter isolated on an island off the East Coast.

CAA and Cinetic are handing the financing for Maggie’s Plan and are navigating the North American rights, while the U.K. based Protagonist Pictures are negotiating the international rights at the Marche du Film in Cannes.

As the film is currently in preproduction, stay tuned for a release date.
