It turns out the internet rumors were true. Christoph Waltz is in final talks to play the father of Chris Pine’s character in Horrible Bosses 2. Waltz and Pine will team up as mean employers in the sequel to the 2011 hit comedy Horrible Bosses.
Waltz and Pine will be joining much of the cast of the original film including Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jamie Foxx. The two surviving bosses from the first film, Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Aniston, will also reprise their roles.
Waltz had originally passed up on the part due to a low offer and the desire to do a play; however, a deal was eventually worked out.
The sequel will be directed by Sean Anders (She’s Out of My League) from a script by Michael Markowitz, John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, all of whom worked on the original Horrible Bosses.
Horrible Bosses 2 is currently in pre-production and is expected to release on November 26, 2014.
