Chris Pratt might primarily be know for his comedic roles (most notably as Andy Dwyer on NBC’s Parks and Recreation), however the 34 year old actor has consistently proven he is comfortable with dramatic roles as well (Moneyball, Zero Dark Thirty). Pratt is looking to further expand his acting chops with a possible role in the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise.
The part would be that of an ex-military man who clashes with the corporate scientist played by Bryce Dallas Howard (50/50, The Help). As little is known about the film’s plot, there is no word on whether Pratt’s character will prove to be an antagonist or simply a “rough around the edges” good-guy who has some idealogical differences with the main protagonist.
Regardless, Pratt’s involvement with Jurassic World is far from a done deal, and since Josh Brolin’s talks amounted to nothing, it may be too early to consider Pratt a member of the cast.
While awaiting confirmation of his casting, fans of the actor will not have to wait long for more work from Pratt. He can be seen in the Vince Vaugh comedy Delivery Man which hits theaters November 22, as well as the Spike Jonze sci-fi romantic dramedy Her which opens on December 18. Pratt also lent his voice to The Lego Movie (February 7) and will display his dramatic and comedic talents on August 1, 2014 when the much anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters.
