Chris Evans Joins Emily Blunt in ‘Pain Hustlers’

Chris Evans, known for playing Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will co-star alongside Emily Blunt in Netflix’s upcoming feature Pain Hustlers. The movie, described by director David Yates as reminiscent of American Hustle, The Wolf of Wall Street, and The Big Short, centers around Liza Drake (Blunt), a high school dropout who strives to create a better future for her and her young daughter. “Liz lands a job with a failing pharmaceutical startup in a yellowing strip mall in Central Florida. Her charm, guts and drive catapult the company and her into the high life, where she soon finds herself at the center of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences,” reads the synopsis.

Previously, Netflix closed a $50-million-plus deal with the Cannes Film Festival for the worldwide rights to Pain Hustlers.

The release date is still unknown, but shooting is expected to begin this August.

Valeri Vankov: I recently graduated high school and will be moving from Bulgaria to attend Yale University in the fall. My interests range from data science to finance to trends in the entertainment industry. When it comes to movies, I am always down for a good social commentary or a psychological thriller. K-dramas are also on my watchlist. In my free time I enjoy going outdoors and reading the works of Haruki Murakami, Kurt Vonnegut, and others.
