Chris Colfer’s Book Series ‘Land of Stories’ To Receive Film Adaptation At Warner Bros.

The Land of Stories, a popular children’s book series is next in line to receive a film adaptation, this time from Warner Bros. The best-selling book series follows a pair of twins who are transported into a magical world full of fairy tale creatures and wonder while grieving the loss of their late father. The series is comprised of six main titles as well of several spinoff books.

Chris Colfer wrote each novel, and has now written over 20 books. He first gained popularity from portraying Kurt Hummel on Glee, but has since focused more on his career as an author. The film adaptation will have a script written by Phil Johnston. Johnston wrote for films such as ZootopiaWreck-It Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet. Emma Watts and Chris Colfer are set to produce.

Back in 2017 it was reported that Chris Colfer would be directing a Land of Stories adaptation himself, so clearly this has been in discussions for some time. However, it is not clear if Colfer will be directing or not. The film has no release window or actors attached yet, but stay tuned for more news on the adaptation.
