According to Deadline, Chris Chalk (Fox’s Gotham) will star opposite Chris Evans (Captain America: Civil War) in the spy drama The Red Sea Diving Resort. Gideon Raff (Train) helms from his own screenplay, based on true events of a mission by an Israeli spy agency to rescue Ethiopian Jews in the Sudan. Chalk will play Commander Abdel Ahmed, leader of a military organization named the Mukhabarat which terrorized Sudan. Evans will play Ari Kidron, the Mossad agent who led the mission.
Also on board are Haley Bennett (The Girl on the Train), Alessandro Nivola (You Were Never Really Here), Michael K. Williams (Assassin’s Creed), Michiel Huisman (The Ottoman Lieutenant), Alex Hassell (Two Down), Mark Ivanir (Bye Bye Germany), Oscar-nominated actor Greg Kinnear (Little Men), and Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley (The Jungle Book).
Raff is producing along with Bron Studios’ Aaron L. Gilbert and Alexandra Milchan of EMJAG Productions. Jason Cloth and Andy Pollack will executive produce.
Chalk plays Lucius Fox on Fox’s Gotham. He will be seen in the feature film Detroit about the 1967 riots in that city; the film will be out in August.
Production on The Red Sea Diving Resort is scheduled to begin this month.
