Focus, a heist thriller starring Will Smith (Men in Black), Margot Robbie (Wolf of Wall Street), and Rodrigo Santoro (300), follows an experienced con artist thrown off his game when he takes a young, attractive novice under his wing. Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who together were behind Crazy Stupid Love and I Love You Phillip Morris, are the writing/directing team on the project, with Denise Di Novi (The Lucky One) signed on as producer. The film is locked in to be released on February 27, 2015.
This marks Smith’s first leading role since starring alongside his son Jaden Smith in last year’s After Earth. He has been significantly busy in his role as producer, with thirty-one projects currently in development, including the Annie remake starring Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) due out in December. This will also be a first starring role for Robbie since her performance in the Oscar-nominated Wolf of Wall Street. She is also slotted as lead actress in the upcoming apocalyptic film Z for Zachariah alongside Chris Pine (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit), and as Tarzan‘s Jane opposite Alexander Skarsgard (The East).
