Lionsgate has released a new trailer for their new action movie Heist starring Robert De Niro (The Intern), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Desierto), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Morris Chestnut (The Perfect Guy). Morgan plays Vaughn, a father who tries to get a loan from The Pope (De Niro) for his sick daughter. After The Pope turns him down, he forms a team that includes Cox (Bautista) to rob The Pope’s casino. The chase led by The Pope’s right-hand man (Chestnut) leads the crew to take a bus hostage where they collide with with the cops and The Pope’s crew.
The first half of the trailer makes the movie look like it the film will focus on the heist, similar to Ocean’s Eleven, however the scope clearly changes to the escape and chase once the criminals make it to the bus. Gina Carano (Deadpool) also stars in the film as a cop.
The film is directed by Scott Mann (The Tournament) whose filmography primarily consists of TV documentaries. For De Niro, this is one of many upcoming projects for the legendary, two-time Oscar winning actor. De Niro stars in the comedy The Intern opposite Anne Hathway (Les Misérables) which opens in theaters this week. He also has a role in David O. Russell’s upcoming Joy and will star in the 2016 boxing film Hands of Stone. Bautista also has a busy release slate ahead including Spectre and the upcoming Highlander remake. Chestnut is currently filming the horror drama When the Bough Breaks. Mann has no upcoming projects.
Heist is set to release November 13. Check out the trailer below.
