The first trailer has dropped for Cameron Crowe’s dramatic rom-com starring Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, and an ensemble cast of Hollywood stars. Cooper stars as a disgraced military contractor who returns to Hawaii, the place of his greatest career triumphs, as he attempts to put his life back together.
Cooper’s character, Brian Gilcrest, returns to Hawaii on the grounds of entering into a new business plan with a former boss, played by Bill Murray. There, he meets his military liaison, Ng, played by Emma Stone (Birdman), and also meets up with an old flame, Tracy, played by Rachel McAdams (Midnight in Paris). The movie also features Alec Baldwin (Still Alice), Jay Baruchel (This Is the End), John Krasinski (Promised Land), and Danny McBride (Your Highness).
The movie was written and directed by Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous, Say Anything), who is in need of a hit after the disappointments of his last two movies, We Bought A Zoo (2011) and Elizabethtown (2005). Cooper’s had a great run, starring in Guardians of the Galaxy last year and receiving high accolades for his role in American Sniper, which received six Oscar nominations, while his co-star Emma Stone is being praised for her role in Birdman, currently up for nine Oscar nominations. Aloha is in post-production and is scheduled for release on May 29 of this year.
