Check Out the Trailer for ‘Ben-Hur’

The first trailer has dropped for the upcoming remake of Ben-Hur, a co-production between Paramount Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. This marks the fourth theatrical released version of the famed story – the most celebrated being the Oscar-winning 1959 William Wyler smash starring Charlton Heston.

The latest incarnation comes from director Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) from a scripted credited to Keith R. Clarke (The Way Back) and Oscar winner John Ridley (12 Years Slave); the source of the material is still Lew Wallace’s novel Ben Hur: A Tale of the Christ. In the remake, rising British actor Jack Huston (Pride and Prejudice and ZombiesAmerican Hustle) plays Judah Ben-Hur, a falsely accused Jewish nobleman who after years of slavery vows revenge on his betrayer- his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes). The ensemble cast is rounded out by Nazanin Boniadi (Homeland), Rodrigo Santoro (300), Moises Arias (The Kings of Summer) and Oscar winner Morgan Freeman (London Has Fallen).

Ben-Hur hit theaters on August 12, 2016. Check out the trailer below:
